Lookie, lookie, I found a cottage weekend 'home workout' from the other week on ma phone 💁🏼.
When I'm away and sans gym, I still try and spend 20 or 30 min doing some type of exercise. Even if I don't feel like it, I really do feel better when I moooove around. Often I just do sets of push-ups but I decided to alternate some dece bodyweight lower body and upper body exercises.
The first exercise (where it looks like I'm missing my shins 😜) is side lying hip raises, once again c/o Mr. @bretcontreras1. I dun care if you feel silly, please try these. Only 10 reps in and the burn was 2 reel 🍑🔥. Sorry for the angle, fam; no 'good' way to film these 😳.
Kept reps around 12-15 and completed as a circuit, then repeated all exercises 3x. The rest of it was seeing how far I could slide across the floor in these socks, dancing around, and harassing @lishacash 😁✌🏻.
I apologize for the pj shorts, top I brought as swimwear, and fluffy sock combo. That's a lie, those socks are the best #functionandfashion 💅🏻💩

How To Do A Proper Pushup

The staple of core bodyweight exercises is the pushup. It can be done anywhere and is very effective if done properly. It's handy to know you can get a good core workout in if traveling, have limited access to a gym, etc. To start, place your hands directly below your shoulders and slightly wider than shoulder width apart. The balls of your feet should be cemented into the ground and you should keep your body in a plank position (rigid/straight). Lower your body down slowly and keep your abs tightened while looking slightly ahead of you (not directly at the ground). Go down until your chest slightly touches the floor and then exhale as your push back up. Don't let your elbows fly out, keep them close to your body while performing the movement. 15 correct form pushups will help you much more than 25 false form pushups. Don't cheat yourself! Common mistakes are raising your butt too high, letting your stomach or lower back sink down too far, and not breathing properly. Avoiding these errors is crucial to getting the most out of your pushup

Though pushups may seem "basic", it's benefits are greatly underrated. When you're trying to grow muscles, the most important factor is the level of muscle exertion. Basically you need to fatigue and exhaust the muscles to make them grow. Pushups are so versatile that they can be done anywhere(maybe on top of sand dune mountains) at any time for how many reps you can do them. So get after it and go until failure if you have no access to a gym. No excuses.

I am really truly LOVING working out. Who would have ever thought?!
My strength just gets better everyday! My mindset is changing into what's best for my body and not focusing on my emotions.
I don't really ever know what the day brings except my workout, my shake and my being on track with my nutrition is a MUST!
I may just be a #shifter for #life 😉
Even tho this workout is 45 mins long- it's my fav out of all the strength ones! I love that each round gets shorter but the intensity rises!!
