Such a supportive boy 😩 Food proceedings kicked off with this simple but delicious breakkie (lunch was another breakfast...I just ❤️ breakfast, post to follow 🤓) Smoked turkey bacon and a fried egg in a @warburtonsuk seeded bagel thin with a squeeze of reduced salt and sugar tomato ketchup (ofc) 😍🥓🍳 The bagel was assembled before demolishing, there was yolk and red sauce errrrrywhere 🤤 #messierthebetter#yolkporn#eggs#tea

Tea and yoga 🤟 Today began miserably. I was up all night, unable to sleep, because I was so stressed and anxious about an upcoming event. By sunrise, I felt frenetic and distraught .
Then a chat to my mom (she’s the best), a cup of tea and some movement, followed by an afternoon with friends, and I feel ready to take on the world’s challenges 💪 .
Tea, yoga, and love. I think that’s the remedy for everything. 🍵🕉💞 .

YOGA TIP!! ❤️👉🏼 Today I want to show you some of the biggest form mistakes and problems I see when people practice Standing Forward Fold (Uttanasana) 💘
In the before photo there are a few big issues here that could cause injury and hurt your practice:
1️⃣ My back is completely rounded! (😬) This is one of the biggest problems I see in this pose (and can cause so much back pain!) Make sure to always lift up through the front body and think about bending UP and OVER your legs (instead of just folding at the waist). Always remember to keep your chest away from your stomach! Length is KEY!
2️⃣ I am hyperextending (over straightening) my knees (OUCH!) 😭. Did you know you can be too flexible in yoga?! When you hyper extend your knees you put yourself at risk for major injuries and long term damage. Avoid this by strengthening the muscles around the knee by engaging the quadricep and lifting the knee cap. You can always put a slight bend in your knees as well! Not every pose needs to look picture perfect it just needs to FEEL good! 🙏🏼
3️⃣ My butt is behind my feet and I'm keeping tension in my neck & shoulders. 😱 Hips should always be stacked over your feet in this pose. By leaning your booty back in the pose your creating tension all over your body. Neck and shoulders should be relaxed down (never straining) and your gaze should be towards your legs! This should feel easy, not strenuous! Just let everything go! 😌
👉🏼 Want some modifications to work your way to the "After" photo? If you have tight hamstrings, take your feet wider and bend your knees; Don't force them straight! If you have lower back pain try turning your feet more inwards to release the pain and use a block between thighs to avoid hyper extension in the knees (shoutout props always!!) Namaste!! 💓

Stand tall. Be proud. And when it’s time for improvements, put your head down and work humbly. I met so many gorgeous, boss women this weekend and I’m excited to stay connected via IG and see y’all next year.
