“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” Received another phone call moments ago for a 2nd callback audition. They want to pair me up with some other actors for chemistry. Doesn’t mean I got the job, but it does mean that hard work and focus is paying off, and I’m getting closer to understanding my gift and using it to glorify God. This is the biggest difference I can attribute to these small successes. Looking towards the hills from whence my help comes from.

Hey everyone! Today’s shoutout goes to the one and only Tania Raymonde, who just so happens to be my favorite actress working today. She’s starred in ABC’s Lost, MTV’s Death Valley, Jodi Aries: Dirty Little Secret, Dirty Lies (a really great film that’s Hitchcockian in so many ways), The Lost Ship, the new Amazon series, Goliath (which she rules in that show if you must know)
She directed a music video not too long ago titled Without You which by the way if you haven’t seen The Director’s Cut, please go on YouTube and watch it! You get to see her talent expand behind the camera. Not only that, but also, go check out her art by clicking on this hashtag #taniaraymondeart 👈🏻
I’m not gonna lie, when the day comes that I get my foot in the door, I’d love to work with her. For example, I would love if we were like the greats Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson. Or John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. Or Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, Or Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese.
If you’re not following her already, then by all means, stop what you are doing and go give her a follow! 🎥🎬
Hewes Pictures reached out to me to acquire the non exclusive rights to four of my short films. I completed dialogue lists and music cue sheets and now wait to see if they find placement for any of my work on broadcast television. I always tell people, we spend money making shorts and don’t make anything back. That’s the game. This has potential to make us money, and more importantly, get our work seen more accessibly across the country.
One of the programmers for Hewes Pictures saw our film Goodman at The Boulevard Film Festival in Queens, NY. He reached out about signing the film, then went to my website and watched others I’d made. They proceeded to sign Goodman, Civil, Four Pies, and The Sounds They Make, all films of which I’m very proud. This also reinforces my strategy of hitting festivals for the past five years. I love meeting people and watching other people’s films at festivals, but this has been the dream since starting the festival game.
Thanks to every single person that’s lent a hand on these films. I hope we get placement through the folks at Hewes Pictures and that our work on these shorts is rewarded even further. I’ve got one last short to make in February, then the focus shifts to a feature length screenplay I wrote and want to film. I’ve learned so much with each short film, and thank you again to each person that’s trusted me.
Thank you Film independent Spirit Awards for nominating me for Best Female Lead for Beatriz at Dinner 💋💃🏽🙏. Gracias a los premios Spirit que son como los Oscares de las películas independientes por nominarme por Beatriz at Dinner. #beatrizatdinner#spiritawards#film#animals

Spike Lee's 'She's Gotta Have It' hit theaters in the summer of 1986. In our latest feature, the filmmaker discusses turning the movie into a Netflix series, sexual politics, gentrification and finding a new Mars Blackmon. "If somebody's going to fuck it up, it'll be me," he says. Read the full story at RollingStone.com. Photograph by David Lee
