Working away all day on this big natural blue topaz. Started off at 128 carats in the rough. Five hours later I've finished the pavilion and its in the transfer block ready to tackle the crown tomorrow. I'm cutting it in a favorite design, the Utopia Pear by the late Jeff Graham. Should be around 28x20mm give or take a bit. I'm rediscovering the joy of polishing with my old tin lap and 100k which i haven't used for a while. It polishes tourmaline like magic and does a beautiful job on topaz.
