Today the EMS class teamed up with the Life Skills class and set-up a “clinic” that included a waiting area, receptionist, magazines, and even that hospital clean smell. The students in the life skills class were “patients” who came in, signed in, and then filled out paperwork and had to wait quietly for their turn. Some of the EMS students acted as patients and some acted as the receptionist and nursing staff. The EMS students had to make conversation asks questions and assess vitals. It was a great cooperative exercise between the two classes and everyone had fun while learning. #ccsdtn#harpethhighschool#emsacademy

Doing CPR while moving a patient can present some challenges. Today we discovered some of these. We worked on our communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills.
Today was the first day that the students were able to utilize the Stryker power cot. #ccsdtn#emsacademy#hhs#harpethhighschool
