I'm very happy with where my core is at right now. Hard work, dedication and patience is what I've needed to accomplish my goals. My journey isn't over, I'm still going to work hard everyday and do what is necessary for me to be healthier and happier. The start of my journey was difficult and painful, I'd go to the gym and then rest for 2 days before going back and now I got 6 days a week and twice a day for most of the days. But getting here wasn't just working out a lot, it was also changing how unhealthy I was eating. Food is so important, working out does nothing if you aren't eating right. I'm still working hard and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

#TransformationTuesday.. don't think about what can happen in a month or a year .. focus on trying to achieve small daily goals .. everyday !!! When I started my fitness journey 10 years ago I didn't start with a goal of getting 6 pack abs and I assure you I never dreamed that I would be posting pictures of myself on instagram 😱🙈.. I started because I wasn't happy with the way I looked or felt .
I was trying my best to keep up with my real life responsibilities.. family , work , home life. It really didn't leave time for myself . Although I was not overweight , I wasn't healthy . It's what you call "skinny fat". I wasn't confident.. I was shy and introverted. My body changed drastically after having children and I didn't think I stood a chance of getting my pre baby body back . My eating habits were not healthy . I would try to be "good" by not eating then eating everything in sight late at night .
I knew I needed to make a lifestyle change .
I began working out at home 45 minutes a day . It was the time I would set aside as "ME" time . I wouldn't miss a day .. I started by doing workout videos . Once I started to see changes , I eventually joined a gym . I wanted to tighten up and build some muscle after losing the weight . The process was a long one . I didn't know what I was doing . I was shy at the gym and embarrassed to workout in the weight area. But my goals were greater than my fears and I stuck with it . Along my journey , I also learned that exercise and nutrition need to go hand in hand to see a real difference .
Today I'm so proud of how far I've come . I'm healthier than I have ever been . I'm more confident than I've ever been and I truly feel blessed because I'm better now than I ever was . So I hope this helps you realize it's NEVER too late to make a change . With a little bit of sweat , hard work and determination all things are possible . You just have to convince yourself that you are capable of achieving anything you put your mind to ...I have come a LONG way .. If I could do it so can you 😘😘💪🏻
CELLULITE: what is it and how do I fix it?
👆🏽cellulite is little clumps of the fat that accumulate near your skin layer within firmer connective tissue- these fat deposits give the dimpled or "cottage cheese" appearance, usually on the thighs, butt and/or stomach. 🏃🏾♀️regular exercise does not "cure" cellulite per se but it can prevent it or minimize the appearance of it.
🙋🏽some regular tips I give people to reduce the appearance of cellulite is to make the connective tissue surrounding it more firm. This can be done through:
2️⃣using weights and dynamic movements
3️⃣ drinking more fluids (namely water) -this will flush out waste products from cells as well as remove anything that may be preventing the burning of subcutaneous fat tissue (that comprises cellulite)
4️⃣eating more omega-3 fatty acids. (Salmon, fish oil, etc) Omega-3 fatty acids reduce appetite and low-level inflammation as well as repair and strengthen skin tissues. This in turn decreases the build-up of harmful toxins in blood vessels and improves circulation.
I have shown in the video today a few ways to tone and tighten up just below the butt. I can literally see, as my workout goes on, my legs tighten up and show less dimples.
Note: I was unable to fully capture the extent of the cellulite I have, but trust me, I have it too 🙋🏽
