#tbt having some well deserved fun. What upset me today was a series of displays of sexism. During a meeting someone told me I was being quite dominant and that it was usually up to men to 'lead' during such assemblies (haha hold on boi, I've been the chairwoman to two large organizations and if anything my gender never got in the way). After that I had to get through the rather old and boring ordeal of explaining to someone powerlifting or even fitness isn't just for men, it's not about being as muscular as possible, and you don't depend on supplementing testosterone to get to a certain level. I thought about this photo because when a family member saw it, they said 'isn't it more of a man's task to man the barbecue?'. I just can't. How about I depend my actions on what I feel like doing, rather than on what's hiding in my way too small underwear like shorts? If anything, I'm starting to get the impression that men that tell women they're being manly are rather just displaying their own insecurity about their supposed lack of masculinity.
