If I am the tide
Coming and going, never really sure if I should stay
Eternally fickle and a heart that can’t seem to be tamed
Bringing with me chaos and and a longing to stay still one day
Then you are the rock
Never moving, never retracting
Welcoming me back, chaos and wildness
If I am the tide, you are the rock.
I've loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night. ⭐

the perfect picture for my life right now
I was driving home during sunset yesterday and decided to take the back roads, which is all farmland and horse property. I drove past this field I pass by every morning on my way to work, but something told me to stop, so I turned around and drove back to it. I always have my camera with me wherever I go. I parked, placed my camera on top of my car, and set the self-timer. I’ve never taken self-portraits before. It was all kinds of scary yet exhilarating, with a whole lot of vulnerability. Out of the 20 or so pics I ended up taking, this one spoke volumes to the moments I’ve been living for the past 5 months.
My heart is guarded. My spirit is patient. There’s specific things I’m praying for and waiting for, but for the first time in a long time, I’m torn. I feel a tension that is so real I can’t discern what is God or what I’m hoping is God. My thoughts get jumbled, and my feelings lead me to think that something incredible is right in front of me. I’ve been more patient in the last several months than I have in my entire life. But while I can’t figure out what God is doing in these moments, I know I can look forward to Him bringing me to the end of this waiting, where all of my feelings, my hopes, my prayers, my dreams, my convictions align perfectly to help me understand what God has been working together the entire time.

Back to where it all began (when Jesse was beardless and Karen was shooting on what looks to be a news camera from the 90’s). We had such a great catch up with some old ship friends last night! So glad fellow ex-sailor @erinwallisphotography made it down as well ⚓️ It brought back memories of how we met on this floating hotel. Our love story started in Alaska while filming the calving glaciers and marvelling at the incredible landscapes. A magical place for anyone, but an extra special place for us 💙

Haven't been posting because of the Thomas fire. Stay safe everybody that's in the area
I stand at the water’s edge, letting the wind pull my hair in every direction. I’m cold and wet, my body numb, I barely notice. I’m staring at this city, the one I’ve fallen in love with, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else at this moment.
I’ve learned from this city, how to be tough. How to pick yourself up after you lose the fight, and come back swinging. I’ve learned that no matter how hard the day is, that there is beauty on the other side of everything, just waiting for you to stop and see.
I watch the ships pass by, and the sun set into a fiery sky behind this city that I love. The waves, licking at my feet, are starting to turn icy in the December air.
I stand at the waters edge, letting the wind pull my hair in every direction.

International Mountain Day?! Well that sounds like the best day ever. Or at least second to my best day ever (pictured here). Can you guess why?! I took this photo on my first summit of a pretty special mountain. If you can guess which mountain it was then you win a spot on my next climb. Or at the very least, a high five!
Reminiscing on my Sedona Arizona trip in late October It was such a fun adventure. Here is a shot from the west fork trail one of my favorite hikes I've done this year! I can not wait for this adventure I'm taking on the 17th to page Arizona I'm gonna go on the lower antelope canyon tour and I'm also hoping to see the sunset at horseshoe bend!

Sometimes I find myself staring at this mountain for hours, especially if I am shooting photos of it. It's hard to believe that this mountain ( Ben Lomond ) rests over top Ogden, Utah. It is one of my Favorite mtns of all time! Thank you God for providing such a beautiful sight for our eyes to see 🍻
